Managing Organisations
An organisation is the top-level container in Troposphere. All connections, cost buckets, policies, and users belong to an organisation, and data is fully isolated between organisations. Most companies need a single organisation, but consultancies and managed service providers often create one per client.
Creating an organisation
Your first organisation is created during signup – after verifying your email and signing in for the first time, Troposphere prompts you for an organisation name. Enter the name that best identifies the organisation (usually your company or business unit) and continue.
A single user can belong to multiple organisations, and additional organisations can be created at any time from the signup flow.
Switching between organisations
If you belong to more than one organisation, Troposphere takes you to a Select Organisation screen after signing in. The list shows every organisation you are a member of; click the one you want to work in to continue. You can return to this screen at any time to switch contexts.
Configuring settings
Navigate to Organisation > Settings in the sidebar. The page is organised into four cards:
- Billing Contact – the name and email address that Troposphere invoices should be addressed to.
- Billing Address – the full postal address used on invoices (address line 1 and 2, city, state/province, postal code, country).
- Tax & Invoicing – your organisation’s tax identification number and any notes that should appear on every invoice.
- Preferences – the organisation’s Timezone, which drives reporting and alert timestamps (e.g.
America/New_York,Europe/London).
Click Save Settings to persist any changes.
Subscription and plan management live on their own page at Organisation > Subscription.
Note
Only users with the Owner role can modify organisation settings or manage the subscription. See Roles & Permissions for the full breakdown.
