Browsing Resources

The Resources page is your searchable inventory of every cloud resource Troposphere has discovered across your connections. Use it to answer questions like “How many storage accounts do we have?”, “Which virtual machines live in East US?”, or “Show me everything on the production subscription.”

Opening the page#

Navigate to Inventory > Resources in the sidebar. The page heading is Resources.

Summary cards#

Three stat cards at the top give you quick counts:

• Total Resources – every resource imported across every connection.
• Deployed – resources that currently exist in the provider (as opposed to Deleted or Managed records).
• Connections – number of connections contributing to the resource inventory.

Filtering the list#

Four filters sit above the table and can be combined freely:

• Connection – restrict to resources from a single connection.
• Category – restrict by resource category (Compute, Storage, Networking, Database, and so on).
• Region – restrict to a single geographic region.
• Search – free-text search over resource names.

As you change filters the table re-renders automatically. Use the page-size selector on the right to adjust how many rows are shown per page.

Drilling into a resource#

Click any resource name in the table to open its detail page. The detail page shows:

• Identity – name, ID, category, region, status.
• Tags – the resource’s native tags, system tags, and any tags inherited from parent resources.
• Hierarchy – the resource’s parent (if any) and any child resources it contains.

Navigating hierarchy#

When you click into a parent-child resource group, the page header shows a breadcrumb trail and the filter bar notes which parent you are currently scoped to. Clear the parent filter to return to the full inventory.

Typical workflows#

• Audit by category – filter to a single category to see every resource of that kind.
• Per-connection review – filter by a connection after connecting a new subscription to confirm everything discovered as expected.
• Regional footprint – filter by region to understand where resources are deployed, useful for data-residency or latency considerations.
• Tag coverage – combine filters with search to find resources that match tagging patterns you care about.
