Managing Alerts
Alerts are generated when budget thresholds are breached, policy violations are detected, automated insights fail, or the platform itself encounters an issue with a connection or import. The Alerts page gives you a central place to review and triage all of them.
Reviewing alerts
Navigate to Alerts in the sidebar. The page has three parts:
- Summary cards at the top show the current counts of Open, Fixed, and Ignored alerts, alongside the Total.
- A severity breakdown bar visualises how the open alerts split across the Critical, High, Medium, and Low severities.
- The alerts table lists every alert with its severity, title, type, status, and creation time. Clicking a title opens the detail view.
Alert types
Every alert is classified as one of four types, surfaced as a badge on each row and as a filter:
- System – platform-level events such as connection failures or import errors.
- Budget – a cost bucket crossed one of its configured budget thresholds.
- Policy – a resource violated a policy you have defined.
- Insight – a resource failed an automated insight check.
Alert statuses
Every alert moves through three statuses:
- Open – new or still active; requires attention.
- Fixed – the underlying issue has been resolved.
- Ignored – the alert is not actionable or is a known exception.
To change an alert’s status, open the alert from the table and use the status action to set it to Fixed or Ignored. The alert’s current status and the email of the user who last changed it are both shown on the table and the detail view.
Filtering and sorting
Use the controls on the Alerts page to narrow down the list:
- Status tabs (above the table) switch between All, Open, Fixed, and Ignored.
- Type filter – limit to System, Budget, Policy, or Insight alerts.
- Severity filter – Critical, High, Medium, Low, or Info.
- Sort – click the Type or Created column headers to sort the list.
Note
Alerts regenerate whenever the underlying condition fires again. Marking an alert as Fixed or Ignored stops it from appearing in the Open tab, but if the same condition recurs on the next sync a new alert may be raised.
Getting notified
Each user can opt in to email notifications for budget alerts and policy violations from their personal Settings page – open the user menu in the top-right of the console and toggle the events you care about under Notification Preferences.
