Troposphere analyses your organisation’s historical spending patterns to project future costs, helping you plan capacity and catch runaway spend before it impacts your budget.

Viewing forecasts

Navigate to Costs > Forecasts in the sidebar. The page is organisation-wide – every forecast is based on the combined spend across all connections in your organisation.

Summary cards

The top of the page shows three at-a-glance numbers:

  • Month to Date – actual spend so far in the current month.
  • Daily Average – average daily spend over the available history.
  • History – how many days of cost data Troposphere has to work with. More history yields higher-confidence forecasts.

Forecast periods

Below the summary, Troposphere renders a card for each of four projection windows, side by side:

  • Current Month Forecast – projected total for the remainder of the current month.
  • 3-Month Forecast – projection across the next three months.
  • 6-Month Forecast – projection across the next six months.
  • Annual Forecast – a full twelve-month projection.

Each card displays the Forecasted Total for the period, the projected Daily Average, a Confidence indicator, and a Cumulative Cost line chart showing how spend is expected to accumulate over the period.

Confidence

Every forecast carries a confidence score between 0 and 100 percent, surfaced as both a coloured badge and a bar:

  • High – 80% or above. The model has ample, consistent history.
  • Medium – between 50% and 80%. Projections are usable but expect some variance.
  • Low – below 50%. The result should be treated as a rough estimate only; more history will improve accuracy.

Confidence grows as more daily cost data accumulates, so newly connected subscriptions start on the low end and improve over time.

Keeping forecasts up to date

Forecasts are available from the moment a connection starts ingesting data – they simply start at low confidence and improve as more history accumulates. Each sync recalculates every period so the figures always reflect the latest spend.
