Introduction
Troposphere is a multi-cloud infrastructure cost management and governance platform. It connects to your cloud provider accounts, brings all of your spending data into a single normalised view, and continuously evaluates every resource against the policies you define.
Unified cost visibility
Most organisations run workloads across multiple cloud providers and services. Each has its own billing portal, terminology, and export format. Troposphere ingests billing data from all connected providers and presents it in a consistent model, making cross-cloud comparisons straightforward.
Cost allocation with hierarchical cost buckets
Raw cloud billing lines rarely map cleanly to the teams and projects that actually own the spend. Troposphere lets you define hierarchical cost buckets – nested groupings such as business unit, team, product, and environment – and assign resources to them directly, by connection, or by tag. Shared costs can be split across buckets using configurable distribution methods.
Budgets and forecasting
Set monthly budgets at any level of the cost bucket hierarchy. Troposphere tracks actual spend against each budget in real time and sends alerts when you approach or exceed a threshold. Built-in forecasting models project your end-of-month spend based on historical trends and current run rate, giving you early warning before overruns happen.
Compliance policies and insights
Define governance policies that flag non-compliant resources – for example, virtual machines running without required tags, storage accounts with public access, or instances in unapproved regions. Troposphere evaluates these policies continuously and surfaces violations in an actionable insights feed.
Resource categorisation
Troposphere automatically categorises resources by service type and lifecycle state across your connected clouds, giving you a searchable inventory that spans every provider.
Organisation and role management
Invite team members to your Troposphere organisation and assign one of three built-in roles — Owner, Admin, or Member — that control what data they can see and what actions they can take.
